The Long Bar, Walsall Waterfront, 2005

Fat were invited by Urban Splash to propose extensions and refurbishments which would convert a former wharf-keepers cottage into a local pub. This will form the centrepiece of the Walsall Waterfront redevelopment. Our design features a 'Long Bar' as its centrepiece. This piece of furniture combines all the things you would expect to find in a pub, from the table football to the specialist beers, in one object. It is housed in a long tall shed which also acts as the pub sign.
