Hi-Land

Hi-Land, Environments for Diesel, 2002-04.

Hiland is a Hi-ly compressed Hi-activity Hi-brid landscape. Designed for Diesel as a way of communicating a lifestyle. Hi Land is urban planning as communication, landscaping as advertising.
Hiland is a exploration of pluralistic planning with a futurist-picturesque ideology. The landscape juxtaposes rural nostalgia with skyskraping downtown, geology with technology. It updates the 19th century equation of Town+Country=Suburbs for the 21st century. This equation might now be more complicated but its motivation is a match: Can the design of cities respond to our urban experiences in a positive way?
