Key Personel

Sean Griffiths:

Sean Griffiths is a director and co-founder of Fashion Architecture Taste Ltd. He has been the principal in charge of some of FAT's most important projects including the Blue House and Kessels Kramer and is currently the partner in charge of the refurbishment of the Sint Lucas Art Academy in Holland. Sean has considerable experience in housing design. He is responsible for the development of the Tanner Point housing project which has involved the sourcing of private finance initiatives and community and resident consultation. Sean has written and researched extensively on the subject of housing, contributing papers to CABE and the RIBA as well as teaching a graduate design programme looking at contemporary housing and master-planning. As well as design duties Sean is the partner in charge of developing new business.

Sam Jacob:

Sam Jacob is a founding director of FAT. He has extensive experience of delivering innovative architectural projects. His involvement in projects reveals a strong architectural vision, allied with a practical acumen of buildability. He trained as an architect and is now involved in a wide range of cultural activity from building projects to art projects. Sam is currently the partner in charge of the Hoogvliet project in Holland and the Museum of Croydon. He has taught and lectured at universities in Europe and the US, and is architecture editor for Contemporary, as well as writing for many art and design publications. Charles Holland:

Charles Holland joined Fat in 1996 becoming a director in 1998. He has been the practice principal in charge of a number of key projects including our award winning security building in The Hague, the Bathroom Sweet and the new Heal’s restaurant and bakery. Charles was also the principal in charge of the Islington Square housing project. He led the consultation workshops and developed the design for the housing in close collaboration with the residents and other members of the client team. He has considerable experience in housing design and is also currently involved in the development of designs for low cost pre-fabricated housing for various London sites. Charles has taught and lectured widely, both in the UK and abroad. He writes about architecture and design for a number of journals and is a regular contributor to Icon and Modern Painters.

Lizzie Evans:

Lizzie Evans joined FAT in 2002. She studied at the University of Manchester and at the University of Westminster, London, where her diploma work was shortlisted for the RIBA President’s Silver Medal award. She graduated in Summer 2002. Prior to joining FAT she worked for the Fairhurst Design Group in Manchester. Lizzie has been involved in a number of FAT’s projects over the last two years, and was project architect for the Sint Lucas arts school refurbishment, in Holland, which was awarded a RIBA European Award 2007, Peyton + Byrne bakery and Meals restaurant at Heals department store London, the latter taking runner up position in Time Outs Restaurant Awards 2007 for Best Design. Currently, Lizzie is project architect on a two story pavilion within an existing shopping arcade which houses a cafe and retail units and is part of Liverpool's exciting and extensive Paradise Street Development.

Matt Stack:

Matt Stack joined Fat in 2004 and has coordinated the documentation of several of our main projects. He has completed projects in the residential, education and commercial sectors in the UK as well as working for two years on urban regeneration projects in Perth, Western Australia after completing his architectural qualifications. Matt has accumulated considerable site and contract administration experience and is a key resource for our construction projects.

Sally Quinn:

Sally Quinn joined FAT in 2007. She received First Class Honours in Architectural Design from the University of Edinburgh before completing an MA at the Royal College of Art in London. She graduated in 2004, when her work was awarded runner up in the Transco Creative Thinking For a Responsible Future Award. Prior to joining FAT she worked with MacCormac Jamieson Prichard Architects in London where she was involved in projects including the Kendrew Quadrangle for St Johns College, Oxford and A Vision for the Victoria Embankment, London. She has taught and been a critic for undergraduate Architecture at Brighton and Nottingham Universities. She is currently involved on the Lindsay Road housing project and the 80 unit residential development, Riverside ONE @Middlehaven.

Charmaine Bartram:

Charmaine is the latest edition to the Fat team, joining as the office manager in September 2007. Trained in Textiles, Visual Arts at Goldsmiths University, London, Charmaine previously worked at OMA in New York as office manager and material researcher. She was involved with the material research for several large current projects at OMA including the Museum Plaza, Louisville, The Wyly Theatre, Dallas and Caltech University, California
